Please refrain from flushing large items into the sewer collection system. Larger items like shop rags, childrens wipes, hand sanitizing wipes, paper towels, feminine products are not biodegradable enough and tend to plug the main sewer lines which cause sewer backups into personal properties.
Another item to refrain from putting in the sewer collection system is greases, cooking oils, etc.
If you have a sewer blockage or backup at your residence please contact the MPUD prior to contacting a plumber so we can check our main system around you to be sure the blockage is not on our end. This may save you from a plumbing bill.
